What is online learning?

Online learning is a modern learning experience delivered via a computer and the Internet. It is not necessary to physically place learning. Course work is conducted through, external resources, exams, forum, blogs, tests, learning activities and online submitted assignments.

How do potential employers appreciate online education?

Most employers these days are familiar with the concept of online education, even entire degree programs conducted in the "virtual" classroom. Employers are more concerned on experience of worker.

How long is each course?

Online courses vary in length; some will correspond to 3,6,10 weeks, while others will adopt a day or week format.

What do I need to get started?

You need to register or login, decide what course you want.

Do I need to purchase course materials?

Yes. After you have chosen a course, you can pay for the course at once or in installments(if this option will be at this course)

Which browsers are supported? Are cell phones or tablets supported?

What is your refund policy?


Do the courses have instructors(teachers)?

Yes. They are available to answer questions and guide discussions via e-mail and online discussion groups during the entire length of the course.

Why am I required to get 70% of the quiz questions correct?

A quiz at the end of the module assesses your mastery of the module learning objectives. The learning objectives must be mastered to continue to the next module. 70% is generally accepted by regulators to insure mastery.

How much does it cost to do an online course?

Our courses fees differs depending on the award type and course duration.

Can I take more than one course at a time?

Yes. When you purchase two or more courses, you get a discount of 5%
If it is Your first course We recommend that You start by taking one course to see if online learning is for you. As our courses are offered frequently, many students will come back for a later session and take two courses to continue their studies with us.

What courses are offered?

Do I need to purchase a text or additional materials to successfully complete the course?

In general, all of the course content is provided online. Some courses, however, may offer supplementary offline materials to enhance the learning process. Some courses may also have required or optional textbooks.

How Flexible is the Course Schedule?

Maritime Academy Online courses are designed with your busy schedule in mind, providing the flexibility you need to study at the times most convenient to you.
The course can be started at any time online. But it must be completed within one year.

Will I receive a certificate after taking classes with Gnomon Online?

Upon successful completion of the course, we will send you a certificate. If the course is less than a week, the certificate will be sent electronically to your e-mail. If the course more than a week, the certificate will be sent to your email address indicated when registering.

What are the educational requirements?

Online courses do not require any formal qualifications, although you may be required to obtain a certain amount of relevant job experience.

How do I cancel an on demand online education program?

If you are unable to complete an on demand online education course once it begins, you may cancel out of the program before the official end date. The following tuition refund policy is in effect for canceled online programs based on the amount of material completed in a course:

Less than 25% of the course completed: 50% cancellation fee

More than 25% of the course completed: no tuition refund

Note: Once you cancel out of a course, you must start the program over at the beginning in any later enrollments. You cannot be placed into the course where you left off before canceling.
